DocR-Works for Android: privacy policy

Draft. Written by the studio. Not reviewed by a lawyer and not legal advice.

DocR-Works is an offline document toolkit. It does not collect, store on any server, share or sell your personal data.

Your documents

  • All processing (merging, converting, OCR, editing, encryption and so on) happens on your device.
  • Your documents and their contents are never uploaded anywhere. The app does not request the Android Internet permission, so it cannot send anything over the network by itself.
  • Files you create are saved on your device, in Documents/DocR-Works by default or in a folder you choose in the app. Files you select are read only to process them.
  • Temporary files made during a conversion are kept in the app’s private cache and removed automatically.

Information the app keeps on your device

Your preferences (for example theme, your name if you enter it, favourite tools and a short list of recently opened file names). This stays in the app’s private storage on your device and is not transmitted. Uninstalling the app removes it.

What the app does not do

  • No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no crash-reporting service and no third-party tracking.
  • No access to your contacts, location, microphone or phone identifiers.
  • The app asks for the Android Camera permission only so the Scan feature can show a live camera preview and take pictures of your pages. The pictures are processed on the device like any other file, are never uploaded and are removed when you finish. If you refuse the permission you can still scan by picking pictures from your gallery.

Feedback

If you write feedback, the app hands the text you typed (plus, only if you leave the box ticked, your phone model, Android version and the app version) to the mail or messaging app that you choose, addressed to madewithin@zohomail.in. The app itself sends nothing; it only happens when you press Send in that other app. Your files are never included.

Sharing

When you tap Share, Open file or share feedback, the content is handed to the Android app you choose. What that app does with it is governed by that app’s own policy. Nothing is ever shared automatically.

Children

The app is a general-purpose utility and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new date.
